SEO TIP: WRITE QUALITY CONTENT
Google, as it often does, has made changes to its search algorithms that determine the order of search results:
- Time on page
- Bounce rate
Time on page is exactly what you think: it's the amount of time a visitor spends on your website.
Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors who visit your website, visit a single page and leave. Google is equating the time a visitor spends on a given page with the overall value that page has to offer and will therefore rank that page higher in search results.
This means that to rank more effectively, I recommend doing a couple of things:
- Write comprehensive content.
- Write valuable content
Complete content refers to the idea of leaving nothing behind. If we use our intent-based keyword research, we know what our audience is searching for, why would we only give them half of a solution?
Valuable content refers to content that is useful to people. Unique, fresh and complete content offers the most value.
Complete content doesn't mean you have to give them so much that your products and services are no longer needed, but if we know what they are looking for, ... don't omit crucial information that helps users understand what service/product you offer. Complete content simply satisfies the needs and intentions of the person who is searching.
If you have valuable content, the user who has seen your page will read it in its entirety, and will most likely browse through your site looking for more valuable information. This is what Google sees with very good eyes.
The problem comes when you do not have valuable content, the user enters the page, sees at a glance that it is not what he is looking for, and leaves your website. This makes the bounce rate very high and the time on a page very low. This implies that Google interprets that your website does not offer value to the user and therefore will position it worse than your competitors' websites.
